content disappearing

hi, I got discouraged using this wiki because everytime the content of a page became too consistent (although we put only text), after saving, a major part of the text just disappeared. Moreover, it was not revertable. We found a quite annoying solution, which was to split up large texts into several parts on different pages.
now, there is another bug: the content of an edited page is different from the saved page, although the volume of text is not yet too consistent. The good thing is, is that the text missing in the saved page, does not disappear from the page in editing mode. (i.e. here (http://l2diva.wik.is/index.php?title=Cours_4e_semestre/Droit_institutionnel_de_l%27Union_Europ%C3%A9enne) where section 4 and 5 disappeared)

Thanks for taking the time to post Robuc. This is a known issue. We talk about it in another thread here too. When you copy-paste HTML or content from other websites there is a known bug that will make content not be shown in view mode whenever there is a line break within tags. The parser doesn’t like it. It’s being fixed (I think it’s already fixed in fact) in the Hayes release (next release). To work around this you can, in HTML mode, remove the line break or just join all the lines and then paste the content. Let me know if you need further clarification.

I joined the lines on that page for you. All good. You can do this in seconds with almost any text editor.

as a matter of fact, the content of the wiki is copy/pasted from a word.doc document
however, any idea why we cannot put more than 30 word.doc pages into one wiki page?

When copy/pasting content from MS Word there is a lot of garbage in the markup. MSO:: blah blah. Try pasting it into an HTML editor and look at the markup. It’s very ugly and rife with proprietary markup. Also, you’ll notice the content is very very large in comparison to a comparably styled HTML file. This is why copy/pasting very large amounts of content from MS Word is a problem b/c we’re stripping out the garbage partially client side. Your browser probably throws a warning after many seconds of our editor stripping MS junk. Only way around this currently is to copy/paste in chunks.

Guaranteed work-around: Save MS Word doc as text-only, and purge it by opening it in a simple text editor.
